It’s Sunday! This weekend, I’m greeting this lovely Sunday with a comeback Sampling Sundays post! =)

Over the last couple of weeks, I have re-discovered the need to use hand cream as the hand soap at work has been making my hands peel a little O.o.

I don’t want others to deem me a little mad if I were to carry my own hand soap each time I use the loo so hand creams come to the rescue!

Say hello to today’s deluxe-sized sample, Clinique’s Deep Comforting hand and cuticle cream:

Clinique deep comfort hand and cuticle cream

Housing 30ml of product in a nifty tube, this cream sits in my work drawer, together with O.P.I’s Avoplex High-Intensity Hand & Nail Cream. Previously, I used the Avoplex hand cream exclusively but as I slowly emptied the tube out of product, I quickly dug this out just to see how it performs against the O.P.I one.

On the back of the tube, this product claims to provide rich, 12-hour hydration, strengthens skin’s moisture barrier against environmental stressors. Deep Comfort also conditions cuticles, nails and absorbs quickly.

I raised an eyebrow at the phrase “absorbs quickly”. Okay, I can’t actually raise my eyebrows but imagine I did.

Allow me to get this out of my system first. It is greasy. It does not “absorb quickly”. Not at all. It takes yonks for it to absorb.

This is the kind of hand cream that will leave greasy, a tad sticky fingerprints all over your table / keyboard / mouse should you use this while at work.

The Deep Comfort hand cream takes on a more balmy texture than that of a cream, and I suppose this is why the heavy texture would not work so well if I were to use this as a daily go-to cream.

That aside, it is a lovely hand cream to have as your hands feel really soft after. There’s no scent to it, which is another plus for those of you who do not fancy fragrance in their products.

However, it’s effects do not last that long for me. After an hour or so my hands start feeling taut again. It’s that uncomfortable feeling you get when you try to stretch your fingers but the skin on your fingers just refuse to budge. =D

Will I keep this at my work table? No. For this product has turned my table into grease central.

But! I’ll keep this on my bedside table so I can simply reach for it before I hit the hay.

Any cheap and good hand creams to recommend? ;)
